Where is The Lost Colony Wine & Culinary Festival held? And what time?

The Festival is held on the grounds of The Lost Colony, located insideFort Raleigh National Historic Site on Roanoke Island.  We are located approximately 3 miles north of downtown Manteo.

The Festival begins at 1PM for VIP ticket holders and 2PM for GA ticket holders. The Festival closes at 5PM.

What if there is inclement weather?

The Festival will be held rain or shine, but have no weather woes as the entire Festival is held indoors in the SoundStage Theatre and under the covered breezeways of the Waterside Theatre.

Can I bring friends or family that are under 21?

No. The Lost Colony Wine & Culinary Festival is for ages 21+ ONLY. No children, no strollers, no babies, no exceptions.

What does my ticket include?

All GA and VIP tickets include access to the Grand Tasting, located in the SoundStage and underneath : wine tasting and restaurant sampling, Craft Beer Garden and live entertainment until 5PM. VIP ticket holders allow for one hour earlier entry at 1PM.  All GA & VIP ticket holders may purchase tickets to seminars (remove). Complimentary water and sodas for all attendees is provided by Pepsi.

Do you provide wine glasses?

GoVino wine glasses for tasting will be given to all GA and VIP ticket holders upon registration in their gift bags which will also include a Festival Guide.

Designated Driver tickets do not receive wine or beer glasses.

Can I purchase tickets anywhere other than online?

At this time Festival tickets can only be purchased online or by phone, (252) 473-6000.

Can I bring my children to an event?

No. Given the nature of The Lost Colony Wine & Culinary Festival, we are required by the state of North Carolina to check IDs for all attendees to be drinking age (21 & over) to gain access to our events. No one under 21 is allowed into the Festival, no exceptions.

Can I bring my pet to an event?

We do not permit animals to attend any Festival events, to ensure the comfort and safety of all our guests. Registered and trained service animals are always permitted.

Is there “non-drinking” ticket price?

Yes, we do offer a Designated Driver Ticket. Designated Driver attendees will be given a different color wrist band and will not receive a tasting glass in their welcome packet. Designated Drivers may sample food but may not taste wine or beer.

What kinds of food and beverages will be served at the events?

It is our goal to present restaurants that focus on locally-sourced and fresh foods that represent the culinary heritage of the Outer Banks. Our restaurant partners will be offering small plates of their chosen specialties often suggesting a wine or beer that complements the dish. A variety of local eateries will be represented.

Will there be entertainment at the Festival?

Yes, there will be live entertainment throughout the afternoon. And, the views of the sound from behind the Waterside Theatre are spectacular!

Where can we park?

There is ample parking for the Festival available in The Lost Colony theatre parking lot. Upon entering Fort Raleigh National Historic Site, follow the signs to The Lost Colony.

Is there Handicap parking?

Yes, there is handicap parking on site, however there is still a 100-yard walk to the entrance to the Festival and then another 50 yards to the Grand Tasting building.  If you need assistance getting someone from the parking area to the Festival, please notify a parking attendant and we will have a golf cart available to transport them to the entrance.  We do have a limited number of wheelchairs available.

What hotel(s) does the Festival recommend?

We feature partner hotels and rental agencies on our website and some are offering a special lodging package for Festival attendees. Please visit our Lodging tab on the website for a listing of these. Other accommodations may be found on the Outer Banks Visitors Bureau website.

What if we buy tickets and can’t come to the event?

There are no refunds, however, you may donate your ticket back as a donation to The Lost Colony.
